designworklife has featured our ‘Creative Thinking’ poster on their inspirational design blog. It’s a collaborative poster designed by me and beautifully letterpressed by Peter Kruty Editions.
LogoLounge Master Library Volume 3 Shapes and Symbol is out and you can find my design for Primary Art Services on page 203.
LogoLounge 6 has hit the stores and I got 2 logos in. They chose the logos for Numas Sustainability and Killerdoos. You can check ’em out below, or you can find them on pages 143 and 167 of the book. I’ve also been informed that one of my entries will be published in LogoLounge: Shapes & Symbols, to be released later this year.
My father, R. D. Ortiz was a sign painter in Dallas, Texas. I would often assist him on jobs as he painted various signs, murals and occasional gold leaf window. It never ceased to amaze me how he could paint a seemingly perfect circle with one stroke of a brush. This is where my appreciation for typography was born and probably led to me ultimately choosing graphic design as a career.
